About Us

To further full participation for individuals with disabilities in Oklahoma post-secondary education through collaboration, information dissemination, advocacy, professional and policy development, and research, Oklahoma Association on Higher Education and Disability continues our mission for disability service providers and the students they serve. *


OK-AHEAD is an affiliate chapter to the AHEAD organization.

Scholarships

The OK-AHEAD scholarship committee is taking scholarship applications until March 1, 2013. Scholarships can be applied at any Oklahoma technology center, or any two-year or four-year college or university. Three $500 scholarships are awarded annually. Please contact Sarah French for additional information.


Conferences

OK-AHEAD Board has plans for a fantastic Spring conference. Mark your calendars for April 4-5, 2013. Our host institution this year is Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Find out more and register on our conference page.


Guidance on Documentation Practices

AHEAD has disseminated an updated professional guidance regarding disability documentation. The complete text of Supporting Accommodation Requests: Guidance on Documentation Practices is available online and for download. The new guidance received Board approval in April and supercedes previous AHEAD guidance on disability documentation.


Board Notes

We extend a warm welcome to our 2012-2013 Board, especially to those who are new. Christina Perry is our new President and our officers page has the list of new board members for this year.


Our next board meeting is scheduled for 26 February 2013 at the Oklahoma Developmental Disabilities Council. Discussion on scholarships and Spring Institute. Additional information is available by contacting Christina Perry. The board minutes for February 2013 are posted.
